If you have to phone, and leave a voicemail, for the love of all that is good, please speak your phone number clearly, twice if you would definitely like a call back.

Men In Sheds Bedford is proud to support the community wherever we can. We like fixing broken stuff too, but you will probably need to bring it to our shed. Contact us first for a discussion.

Please note that we are unlikely to be able to do DIY jobs at peoples’ homes as our insurance does not really cover any problems that might occur.

    Hi Steve,
I contacted you before but was not free to attend. Can you help me join properly now? I came along today. Geoff suggested Monday for intro but will have to be after Bank Holiday.

Contacted you about 3 weeks ago, I am downsizing and have a heap of wood and ply
Mr Wickens came back, but I’ve been unable to contact him since, need to shift this first load asap so I can sort some more, I have two good carloads ready.

    • Stephen Conway says:

I believe that Mr Wickens has sorted this matter. Thank you for your donations it is much appreciated.

    Hi Steve,

My name is ****, I’m ex military and I’ve been suffering from PTSD since 1990, after years of isolating myself, I am looking for some form of activity and integration, and being with a group of people who won’t judge me, because of I have done and how it’s effected my life. I just want to be one of the boys again, have a laugh and share stories and be happy again.

So if I could arrange a meeting for me to introduce myself, and take it from there.

    • Stephen Conway says:

      Hi,
We feel that you would fit right in, we have a number of members who are ex-military and love to share stories.
Please pop down any Monday from 10:00 to meet us.

    At Steve Conway

I am interested in joining men in shed Bedford, I have left you 2 messages in your voicemail, you have not responded, I have made 2 trips the Althorpe street, but there is no one there, question is has it ceased?

Your response would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

Sorry BT voicemail is not really working at the moment.
I don’t understand why you have been to the annex (Art Centre) and not seen us. There has been people there on Monday (10:00 – 16:00), Tuesday (10:00 – 13:00) and Thursday (10:00 – 13:00). As well at other times.
We alway recommend visiting on Monday between 10:00 – 12:00, as the machines are not on and we can hear each other speak 🙂
Let me know if that is suitable.

  5. John R Morrell says:

My name is John. I am 65, retired, and have lived in Bedford for 35 years. Would it be possible to visit your shed and talk to someone about your organisation? I can be contacted either on the email address given below or on my mobile 0xxxxxxxx.

Thank you for your time. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to your members and their families.

    Regards, John

  7. Keith Clark says:

Today I donated a small toolbox full of Centre lathe turners tools that had lain unused in my workshop for 20 years since retiring from a life time spent as a reluctant CL turner when my first love had ,and still is, woodwork, sadly self taught. I hope you find more use for them than I ever did, I have a lathe clock as well I will bring along when I come following the upheaval of moving all our stuff from a gallon pot to a pint sized place

    • Steve Conway says:

Hi Keith, thank you for the donation. We would been keen to gain knowledge from your wood working skills, if you would be prepared to help us?
      Kind regards
      Steve Conway

  8. Michael hall says:

Hi is there any chance to come along and have a look, thanks.

  9. adrian says:

Can you use some workshop equipment ?

I particularly need to find a home for a Rapidor power hacksaw but might be able to offer some other things too.

  10. Mike Pearson says:

    Hi Steve,
I am interested in joining but can find no mention of costs.
£40/month for something similar in Central Cambridge seems very steep to a retired Yorkshireman like me..

    • Steve Conway says:

      Hi Mike,
The cost is a joining fee of ten pounds, and an annual cost of fifteen pounds. Oh and 10p for a cuppa 🙂
Please drop in on any Monday for a chat, I am sure you will be persuaded that it is very good value for money.
      Kind regards
      Steve Conway

  12. I wonder if your group could make use of this;
A car recently collided with me as I was pushing my bike over a zebra crossing. There appears to be superficial damage – a bent brake lever, chainguard smashed, dynamo bent, etc., – but the bike proves unusable as the wheels won’t go round 🙂 I’m not technical or practical and can’t begin to repair it and will need to buy a new bike, but I don’t want to just throw this bike away. It may be easily repairable, or parts could be reused.
Please let me know if you would like it, I can deliver, but if it’s not suitable for your group, I will take it to the tip.

    • Steve Conway says:

Thanks for the offer Peggy, I will check to see if someone would like to take this on, and get back to you.
      Steve Conway

  13. Steve says:

Please post a message, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
